    Dear Parents:

We have had a wonderful school year so far!  Our teachers, administration, staff, and PTA continue to provide the best educational experiences for our students at MacArthur.  We continue to strive to improve our practices and value your input. The Long Beach Unified School District is conducting a survey of parents and guardians of all students in our district.

The purpose of the survey is to get your opinion on the effectiveness of our work with your children at MacArthur Elementary School. Your experiences and opinions are very important – the information gathered by this survey will contribute to the continuous improvement plan for our school.

You may use a computer, smartphone or tablet to access the online survey. Please check your email sent from Panorama Education.  Click on the survey link on the email.  If you didn’t receive the email, you can also access the survey by logging in to your Parent Vue account.  This brief survey should take only a few minutes to complete and is due by February 21, 2020.

This is a great opportunity to provide valuable input and insight based on your experience with our district. Thank you in advance for taking the time to assist us in collecting this important information.

    Sincerely,  Mrs. Yepez

The standards-based Achievement Report (report card) communicates to parents the student’s individual progress towards meeting or exceeding grade level standards.  Our school site is paperless. The Achievement Report for the first reporting period will be posted on Parent Vue by February 6, 2020.

If you have any questions regarding your child’s progress, please call or email your child’s teacher.

    Important Notice

    Dear Parents and Guardians,

This year, our parent notifications booklet, “Guidelines for Parents and Students,” is available for viewing on LBUSD's website:

It contains important district information for you to review. You may access the Parent Guidelines by clicking on this link.

If you do not have access to the Long Beach Unified School District website, you may request a copy of the booklet in our school office. Thank you!

    Uniform Donations

We would like to welcome your children's gently used school uniforms. Please keep us in mind as you go through your children's uniforms throughout the school year.

We'd like to request smaller sizes, (sizes 8 and under) but we appreciate washed clothing donations of any size. Items include tops:  white or red uniform shirts and navy bottoms: slacks, shorts, skirts or leggings.

In addition, we always appreciate unused/new socks and undergarments.  Your kind donations are used when students are in need of a change of clothing at school.  All donations can be dropped off in our school office. Thank you!

    Lost and Found Items

    Lost and found clothing rack

If your child is missing clothing, lunchboxes, outerwear or anything else, please come and check the Lost and Found rack and tub by the front of our school.

On the last Friday of the month, all unclaimed items will be donated to a local charity.

As a reminder, please clearly mark your child's name on sweatshirts, outerwear, backpacks, lunchboxes etc.

In addition, should your child bring home items that belong to another student by mistake, please return them to the Lost and Found rack.

    safety first

Due to recent safety concerns, the MacArthur Staff is asking that you do not drop off your children in the parking lot.

In the best safety interest of all our students, please safely drop off your child at one of the following:

    •  In front of MacArthur on Centralia
    • Gate on Henry Lee
    • Please note, the gate on Gondar is temporarily not available

    Thank you.
