Dear Parents and Guardians,
This year, our parent notifications booklet, “Guidelines for Parents and Students,” is available for viewing on our website at www.lbschools.net. It contains important information for you to review. We encourage you to become familiar with its contents.
If you do not have access to the Long Beach Unified School District website, you may request a copy of the booklet through your students Teacher.
Please print and sign the following notification and return to your students teacher once school has started.
Thank you!

Hello Parents and Guardians,
As you may have heard, an exciting new communication tool is available for the 2018-2019 school year! It is the SchoolMessenger App! The app provides a district-approved secure and safe way to communicate with your child’s teacher(s). Download the app from the App Store or Google Play or access it via the web at go.schoolmessenger.com.
Directions are attached to help you sign up for the app. Signing up via the web is very similar. The app and web version function the same and can be used interchangeably. Make sure you use the email that the district has on file for you when signing up. Your email can be verified by checking the email address in your ParentVue account. Don’t have a ParentVue account? Contact your school office for an activation code and set up an account.
The School Messenger App is a long-term communication strategy for engaging with your child’s teacher(s). Sign up one time and have access each subsequent school year, you don’t need to re-register each year. Class/Teacher information is preloaded in your account.
Additional benefits:
- View and listen to messages sent from your school or the district
- Edit how you are contacted by the district – set your preferences
- Join and participate in additional groups that are created (Examples: Chess Club, Study Group)
- Student, Parent/Guardian, Teacher data is protected with our data-sharing agreement with SchoolMessenger
--- Additional step for MacArthur parents ---
Once you download the app, parents please join the MacArthur EAGLES Group with the following CODE:
Group Name: MacArthur EAGLES ‘18-’19
Group Access Code: PUHANG

We accept BOT TOPS all school year long. Drop them in the Box Tops barrel located in the hallway near the office.
You can use the collection sheets or put them in a baggie or envelope or drop them in individually.
Each one is worth 10cents for our school and they add up fast.
Thanks for your support!
MacArthur is in need of gently used School Uniform pcs to be used when students are in need of a change of clothing at school.
Please keep this in mind as you go through your childrens clothes throughout the summer.
Mostly smaller sizes, (sizes 8 and under) but we appreciate clothing donations of any size. Items include shirts, slacks, shorts, skirts, underwear and socks.
All donations can be brought to the MacArthur Office in September.
Thank you!

Due to recent safety concerns, the MacArthur Staff is asking that you do not drop off your children in the parking lot.
In addition, please do not stop in the middle of the street and allow your student to run across.
In the best safety interest of all our students, please safely drop off your child at one of the following:
- In front of MacArthur on Centralia
- Gate on Henry Lee
- Please note, the gate on Gondar is temporarily not available
Thank you.
Parents:
If your child is missing clothing, lunchboxes, outerwear or anything else, please come and check the Lost and Found rack and tub by the front of our school.
On the last Friday of the month, all Unclaimed items will be donated to a local charity.
As a reminder, please clearly mark your child's name on sweatshirts, outerwear, backpacks, lunchboxes etc.
In addition, should your child bring home items that belong to another student by mistake, please return them to the Lost and Found rack.
Thank you
